The Automotive Technology program focuses on troubleshooting and repairing vehicles that customers bring in for repair. Students will learn from both hands-on work and classroom instruction about working on different vehicles and using different tools.
In this field of work, students will be required to repair surfaces using power tools or hand tools, inspect repaired vehicles for proper functioning, and test-drive vehicles to ensure proper alignment and drivability. Students also specialize in maintenance and repairs on ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and other outdoor power equipment.
The Automotive Technologies program is great for someone who wants to further delve into the career of automotive repair and will teach them the life skills on how to keep their own vehicle running smoothly.
Integrated Academic Credits Available: 1 credit of Math, 1 credit of Science and 1 credit of ELA over the course of the two year curriculum.
Industry Certification/Concurrent Enrollment Credit Options: OSHA and NYS certification in Motor Vehicle Inspections are available upon completion of this program.
College Agreements: Alfred State, SUNY Canton, SUNY Morrisville, University of Northwest Ohio, and Universal Technical Institute.
