Seaway Career & Technical Education Center is pleased to announce that Audrieanna Sherman is the December recipient of the Rev. William R. & Crystal E. Cuthbert Vocational Excellence Award, sponsored by Brookfield Renewable US. Audrieanna is a senior in our Education & Human Services Program. She is currently undertaking her first internship at Norwood-Norfolk CSD, where she is working in a second-grade classroom. This 20-week internship will provide Audrieanna with valuable experience, allowing her to work with students across various grade levels, from UPK to 8th grade.
In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Audrieanna will complete training in DASA, SAVE, and Mandated Reporting, and she is preparing to take the New York State Teaching Assistant Exam. With a strong foundation in effective teaching, Audrieanna will have the necessary training and skills to pursue a career in education.
Mrs. Kayla Merchant has said the following about Audrieanna: “She has a true gift for communication. I have been fortunate to observe her impressive growth both academically and as an individual. She is a strong and determined young woman with a bright future ahead of her.”
